Ok, this is shameless promotion of dear friend, but do visit - she's from a similar background to me and also aspiring towards a career in human rights, but has moved to Tokyo for a while to work for a MNC, and learn a little more about her roots. The blog seeks to shed some light on Japanese society, and makes for very interesting reading. Highly recommended.
